George Edward VanHook, 72 of Waynesburg passed away on Monday March 8th, 2010 in Stanford Kentucky. Born in Pulaski County, on Monday, October 11th, 1937 to Doris Benge VanHook of Eubank and the late Vola VanHook. George was a member of Eubank Baptist Church, a farmer who enjoyed baling hay and was an avid UK fan.
George leaves behind his wife Janie VanHook of Waynesburg, two sons Pete VanHook and his wife Diana of Waynesburg, Steven VanHook of Waynesburg; a daughter Marsha VanHook of Somerset; a brother Larry VanHook of Somerset; three sisters Lois Sharp of Eubank, Gene Correll of Somerset, and Debbie Petrey of Lexington; a grandson Dale VanHook; three special great-grandchildren Steven VanHook, Gracie & Abgail Day; and a host of nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by his father and two grand sons Trace & Josh VanHook.
A Remembrance of Life Service will be held at 1pm, Wednesday, March 10th, 2010 at Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home, Waynesburg with Bros. Shelby Reynolds & Noel Dotson officiating. Burial will be in Whitelilly Cemetery in Pulaski County. Visitation will be from 5 until 9pm, Tuesday, March 9th, 2010 at Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home, Waynesburg.
Active pallbearers are Willie Rice, Terry Keith, Dale & Pete VanHook, Richard Maxie, Bill Jones, Donald Johnson, Doug Lay, Randy Story, Ernie Eldridge.
