Obituary for Orville Padgett
Orville Padgett, 91, of Waynesburg, passed away Monday, February 08, 2010 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. He was born Friday, July 19, 1918 in Lincoln County. Orville was retired from Southern Railroad, where he was employed 33 years, a farmer, a former 3 Cs and member of Parlor Grove Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Ethel Yantz Padgett; his parents; two sons, James & Danny Padgett and his daughter, Linda Middleton; and his brother, Otis and sister, Violet.
He is survived by his sons, Freddie (Jean) Padgett of Waynesburg and Clinton (Barbara) Padgett of Lexington; 12 Grandchildren, 17 Great-Grandchildren and five Great-Great Grandchildren.
An Appreciation of Life Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, February 11th at Parlor Grove Baptist Church by Bros. Mike Mullins and Tony Hall with burial to follow in Double Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may go to Gideon’s International. Jeff, Greg, Jimmy, Jamie and Justin Padgett, Keith Middleton and Larry Carrier will serve as the Pallbearers. Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
