Dewana Reynolds Grabeel, 68, of Eubank, passed from this life on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at Lake Cumberland Regional Medical Center. She was born in Somerset on Monday, December 15, 1941 to the late Earl Bradshaw and Louise Stamper Reynolds. She was a homemaker, a 1959 graduate of Memorial High School, a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary #5358 in Eubank and a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church, where she was active in the Senior Sunday School Class. Dewana never met a stranger, loved to cook and spend time with her family and was the most avid UofK basketball fan ever.
She is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Danny Grabeel; a sister, Georgia Jenkins and a brother, Michael Reynolds.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Clarence Grabeel of Eubank; her daughters, Vonia and Traci Grabeel, both of Lexington and Diane Stevens (Glenn) of Science Hill; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Grabeel of Somerset; her brothers, Timmy (Tammy) and Dennis (Linda) Reynolds, both of Louisville; a sister-in-law, Verna Reynolds and a brother-in-law, Clyde Jenkins, both of Waynesburg; five grandchildren, Danny Pachard, Brian Oliver, James Ed Stevens, Greg Stevens and Leslie Godsey; and seven great-grandchildren.
An Appreciation of Life service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 2nd at Pleasant View Baptist Church by Bros. Vola Brown and Kerry Jones. Burial will follow in Double Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Monday at the church. Shannon & Michael Reynolds, J.J. Grabeel, Mark & David Hardwick and Chuck Jacobs will serve as Dewana's Pallbearers.
