Obituary for Verdena Faye Rumley
Verdena Faye Rumley was born and raised in Waynesburg, KY. She was the daughter of Grandville Young and Flossie Mae Hayes. She was married to U.S. Army veteran, SFC Joseph C. Rumley. She is survived by her daughter, Vickie L. Kidwell and her son, Joseph D. Rumley, their families, including six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and the families of her four sisters and brother. Mrs. Rumley enjoyed the Army life and being a homemaker. After her husband’s passing in 1973, she was a realtor in Southern California, where she lived from 1977 until her passing. She was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. Her strength and independence were an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be missed dearly by her family. Mrs. Rumley died peacefully on February 8, 2010 in Valencia, CA. Funeral services were held at Double Springs Cemetery in Waynesburg, KY on February 13, 2010 and fulfilling her last wish she was buried beside her beloved husband.
